Reporting From Miami!!!


Greetings from the Sunshine State! Let me start off saying that Florida is most definitely correctly named the 'Sunshine State'. The weather here is beautiful, sunny, and deliciously hot! Though I must first impression was not thus so, let me start at the beginning.


Last Friday:


My friends planned this all day Nanny day going way thing... It was an amazing day!! Parul, swam, and I grabbed dinner at T.G.I.Fridays and had blast catching up and laughing up a storm. It totally reminded me of our Boston getaway and all the fun times! The fun continued to my house where we began to get ready. Maria and Veer came to my place and we left to go to lana lounge in hoboken. There I had a blast with Maria, roshani, veer, elise, rupesh, parul, monika, nick, swam, viral, nikita, meetal, and div! The night was amazing, the music at lana lounge was great, and I overall had a blast! The only glitch in the night was that my camera got stolen/lost. It was an unlucky camera night but besides that my friends were nothing short of wonderful. It made me so thankful for my amazing set of family and friends. I woke the next morning with a buzz in my ears from the loud music, and sense of being really blessed in my heart. Can you say great night? =)


Last Saturday:


Family and I went to six flags with raksha kaki, devash kaka, and dakshina foi. It was a fun, pretty low key day. I am glad I was able to go to six flags one time before summer ended! What can I say I am sucker for thrill rides. Also it turned out to be Midsummer masala that day so me and yera ended up checking out RDB's peformance. Lol he is such a tool and moreover there is strong evidence that he was lip synching the whole thing. He like quite literally walked off stage and the music kept playing on. What a dork. And god there were so many wannabe guju/punjabi thugs. Annoying... they need to get some class.


Sunday, Monday, Tuesday:


Lots of time spent with family! I got to meet Vishnu fua before i left which was nice. I said goodbye to everyone which was kind of sad for sure. But the fact that I was leaving really hadn't hit me at that point. So it really had not struck me that I wouldn not see them for so long.


Also, Monday was my last day of work. It was bittersweet after four years. good thing was it was very non-climatic.


Then Wednesday Night:


A bunch of last minute scrambling to make sure I pull everything together. Parul, Maria, and rushang came over to say goodbye. We had dinner, shared some last minute laughs, had some conversation, and finally parted around eleven o clock. I did some more scrambling for one more hour. Finally i was in the bathroom washing my face when I realized my time had come to say goodbye to my family. The thought of saying goodbye to yera quickly brought multiple tears to my eyes. Before long the waterfall began. I cried for twenty minutes, and yera gave me a card my mom, dad, and herself had signed. The card said such loving, caring, motivational words... I knew once again I was blessed with the best family possible. We ended up sleeping by two.


Thursday morning scramble:


woke up at four, got ready, and got to the airport at 5:20 for a 6:45 flight. The airport was incredibly busy, and we ended up missing the flight. We caught the 9:10 flight out of jersey, and by one o clock we were in the apartment.


The apartment from outside looks pretty crappy honestly, but from the inside it is nice! Except for the lizards outside, and the bit of the bug problem inside... the apartment is exactly what we asked for and recieved. Okay honestly I am about to pass out asleep right now!! It has been a couple of very tiring, pretty hectic days... so goodnight for today and I shall finish tom!!!!

It's been a crazy four years, but today marks the official end of my undergraduate career. How can I sum my time at Rutgers in a blog post? Totally impossible. But I can say this... there is not a thing I would change. I have quite literally grown up with Rutgers. Direction

The roads of our lives come with no maps. No signs to tell us when to yield, when to stop, or when to go. Streets, alleys, and highways are forged as we drive along. There are crossroads, and choices to be made. There are u-turns, and detours. Sometimes we take the expressway, and other times the local. Sometimes its sunny, and sometimes it rains. What was our purpose? 21 years. 21 years i have spent on these planet. What have i done? What have I achieved. Why am i here? I am driving, but it is foggy outside. The "Illegal"

Recently, Vishnu and I watched "Illegal", a 2019 drama film directed by Danish Renzu. This powerful movie tells the story of a young man who comes to the US on a student visa to pursue his dream of becoming a film director. However, his journey is far from easy and the story sheds light on the many struggles he encounters along the way. As I watched the film, I was overwhelmed by a sense of melancholy and gratitude.  The melancholy came mostly from my thoughts of my parents, aunts and uncles, in-laws, and other cherished people in my life who had faced similar challenges when they arrived in the United States nearly three decades ago. Although they seldom discuss their experiences, I know that life was incredibly difficult for them back then. Many of my loved ones worked arduous jobs, sometimes multiple jobs simultaneously, just to ensure that there was food on the table.
